Bio

Blumenfeld was somewhere between the backwoods of Northern Michigan and Los Angeles’ concrete jungle when the floor of reality suddenly dropped out from under his feet.
“At that ugly moment, I knew the only thing left to do was toss my belongings into a storage locker and get as far away as possible,” he said.
He rode the aftershocks to the world’s soju capital, Seoul, Korea, where he began teaching English at Seokgye Elementary School and moonlighting as a gonzo, travel/community journalist for the expat rag, Groove Korea.
His reporting detailed exchanges with Korean locals, as he and his “advisor” Binx scoured the country on what was described as an “adventure of pseudo-philosophical meanderings.” Their intention? – to understand the reality of contemporary Korean culture.
Days turned to nights, one year turned to three.
In July 2019, Blumenfeld moved to Crestline and began working as a newspaper reporter in the mountain communities of San Bernardino County. He aims to pen informative and engaging articles to help residents learn about the world around them.
